\r\n\r\nThe community of Belton was growing quickly in the late 1990\u2019s. A need for quality child care became an issue. Susan and Robert Jones were both working parents and recognized this need. Susan was a certified public school teacher and active in her church preschool program. Susan went back to school taking several early childhood courses, and became a certified child care center director. Around this time, land was purchased by the Jones\u2019 and building began for a new child care center.The center opened in June 1998. Susan and Robert\u2019s three children were some of the first enrollees. The center grew quickly and an additional building was erected in 2000 on the same site. The center has participated in the \u201cTexas School Ready\u201d initiative and is currently working toward NAEYC<\/a> accreditation. We hope to be the first NAEYC accredited center in Belton.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n

Our mission at The Belton Education Station is to provide exemplary early childhood education, for the children of the central Texas area, by offering a program tailored to ensure the quality of a child\u2019s daily experiences while building a foundation for future learning.<\/i><\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n

Our Philosophy<\/strong>\r\nAt BES a primary goal is for children to feel safe and secure. Additionally, we believe that a learning environment which fosters respect for cultural diversity and utilizes an eclectic approach to education allows for optimal growth and development of young children. Young children\u2019s developmental tasks are to build trust, learn social skills, begin mastery of academic skills and develop positive self esteem. In order to best support these tasks, our program strives to provide developmentally appropriate activities, well trained and consistent staff, a safe and healthy learning environment, and continuity of care. Also, throughout the whole learning process we believe parents are their child\u2019s first teacher.
